Carl J. Cato Sr., age 72, of Bethalto, passed away Tuesday, June 2, 2015, at his home with his family by his side.He was born March 25, 1943, the son of Frank and Tessie (Green) Cato. He married Janet Harrop on February 12, 1965 in Wood River, and she survives.Carl loved spending time with his family. His interests included raising and caring for many different types of animals.In addition to his wife, Janet; he is survived by three children, Carl Cato Jr., and his wife, Marlynna, of Bethalto, Brian Cato, and his fiancée, Precious Hart, both of Wood River, Tina Hill of Staunton; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.He is preceded in death by his parents; and seventeen brothers and sisters.Visitation will be held Friday, June 5, 2015, from 9:00 am until the time of service at 11:00 am at Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Bethalto with Pastor Kevin Auten officiating.Burial will take place in Rose Lawn Memory Gardens.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mary L.
