Blanche Elizabeth York

Blanche Elizabeth York, 84, passed away on Friday March 8, 2013.

She was born to Homer and Leta Voiles on September 17, 1928 in Alton, Illinois.

Blanche worked at Alton Box Board and later on worked alongside her husband at his tax and bookkeeping business.

She married Berkley F. York Jr. on September 17, 1947 and they had seven children; Kristine (Ray) Elizondo of Kansas City, MO, Karen York of Alton, IL, Kyle (Doug) Barnes of Trenton, MO, Kirsten York of Cahokia, IL, Kendell York of Fairview Heights, IL, Berkley F. York III of Georgia and Kamille (Rick) McPeek of Augusta, GA, nine grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Bette Ann Walter of Alton, IL and brother-in-law, Jerry York of Salt Lake City, Utah and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.

Per her wishes, Blanche will be cremated and there will be no services.
