Billie Dean Miller, 84, passed away 11:24 a.m. Thursday, December 12, 2013 at Rosewood Care Center of Alton.Born in McClure, IL on June 18, 1929, he was the son of Charles and Ada (Hargis) Miller.A Korean War army veteran, he had been an accountant for C.J. Schlosser and Co. for over 60 years.On August 12, 1950 in Cambria, IL, he married the former Joyce Elaine Richardson. She survives.Surviving also are two sons, Billie D. Miller, Jr. of Godfrey, Gary L. (Dawna) Miller of Highland; four daughters, Ann Miller of Hartford, Karol (Jim) Barrish and Karen (Tracy) Anthony all of East Alton, Kathy Miller of Godfrey; five grandchildren, Crystal Miller, Heather (Joshua) Frith, Caleb Millr, Joshua Miller, Taylor Miller; an two great grandchildren, Jaydon and Jaxon Frith.Preceding him in death were his parents; two brothers, Charles and Gerald Miller; two sisters, Beatrice 'Toots' Clayton and Fern Miller, in infancy; and a daughter-in-law, Cathy Miller.Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until time of service at 1 p.m. Monday, December 16 at Marks Mortuary in Wood River. Stan Richardson will officiate.Burial will follow in Valhalla Memorial Park in Godfrey.Memorials may be made to the Salvation Army.
