Betty L. Hoering, 92, died at 10:10 p.m. on Saturday, January 18, 2014 at Rosewood Care Center. She was born December 2, 1921 in Springfield, IL the daughter of the late Blase and Teresa (Miller) Lizza.
She was a member of St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Godfrey. She was well known for her baking especially for her cookies. Betty retired in 1986 from Dr’s Hardbeck and Brown Medical Office where she worked as a receptionist. On November 30, 1939 in Alton she married J. Robert “Bob” Hoering and he preceded her in death in 1970.
She is survived by one son; Jim Hoering (Karen) of Foristell, MO, two daughters; Susan Walter of Brighton and Joan Madison (Greg Lorch) of Alton. seven grandchildren; Melinda Partridge (Don) of Bunker Hill, Steven Walter of Rocky Mount, Mo, Shelley Shannon (Chris) of Foristell, Mo, Heather Finley of Gig Harbor, WA, Dan Hoering of Wright City, MO, Jill Walter of St. Louis, Cari Laramee (Richard) of Lutz, FL, eight great grandchildren; Aschley Partridge of Bethalto, Jenni Partridge of Bunker Hill and Gavin Laramee of Lutz, FL.,Jessica Shannon of Wentzville, MO, Morganne Shannon of Foristell, MO, Brianna Finley of Gig harbor, WA, Stacie Finley of Gig Harbor, WA and Tabitha Hoering, of Wright City, MO, one great great grandchild; Cayden Partridge of Bunker Hill.
Visitation will be from 4:00-8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 21, 2014 at Gent Funeral Home in Alton. A mass of Christian Burial will be on Wednesday, January 22 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Ambrose Catholic Church with Father Thomas Horan, OMI to officiate. Burial will be at Valhalla Memorial Park in Godfrey.
