Bernice A. Shelby, 77, passed away at 8:51am on Thursday, April 14, 2016, at SSM DePaul Hospital in Bridgeton, Missouri. She was born on October 31, 1938, in St. Louis, Missouri, the daughter of the late Arthur G. and Helen (Kamadulski) Ritter. She married Claude Shelby on October 6, 1957, in Columbia, Illinois, and he survives. Other survivors include one daughter and son in law: Amy and Mike Nolan of Wood River, one son and daughter in law: Bryan and Jeannine Shelby of Sheboygan, Wisconsin, four grandchildren: Danny and Ericca Nolan, Emily, Taylor, Katie, one great granddaughter: Avery, one brother and sister in law: Arthur O. and Judy Ritter of Cherokee Village, Arkansas.
She was formerly employed by Tupperware as a manager in the Busy Bee unit for 25 years prior to her retirement. She was a member of St. Paul’s Evangelical Church in Columbia, Illinois.
In accordance with her wishes, cremation rites will be accorded. Private family services will be held at a later date.
