Barbara N. Phelps, 81, passed away at 5:15 am Thursday, September 25, 2014 at her home with her family by her side while under the care of Heartland Hospice.
She was born on January 29, 1933 in Eldorado, IL, the daughter of Glenn and Pearl (Draper) Watson.
She married Glen R. Phelps on July 15, 1951 in Pocahontas, AR. He survives.
Barbara was a homemaker. She was affiliated with Bethel General Baptist Church in Bethalto. She enjoyed sewing, cooking, yard sales and most of all she loved spending time with her family and friends.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by a son, John Phelps of Harlington, TX; two grandchildren and a spouse, Adam and Lindsay Coleman and Brittany Coleman; a great grandson, Mason Coleman; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Leland and Virginia Watson and Fred Watson and a sister-in-law, Helen Watson all of Eldorado; a son-in-law, Jim Coleman of Meadowbrook; her nieces and nephews and several friends from Eldorado.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter, Lisa Hayes and a brother, Jack Watson.
Visitation will be from 9:30 am until services at 11:00 am Saturday, September 27, 2014 at Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Bethalto with Rev. Ray Phelps officiating.
Burial will follow at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto.
Memorials may be made to Heartland Hospice.
