Barbara Jean Moore, 82, passed away at 11:10pm on Thursday, February 7, 2013, at Foxes Grove in Wood River. She was born on August 2, 1930, in Decatur, Illinois the daughter of Hallie and Margaret (Greider) Kingery. She married Charles E. Moore on August 8, 1948, in Macon, Illinois and he preceded her in death on April 6, 1989. Survivors include two daughters and a son in law: Evelyn and Don Quigley of Mt. Zion, Illinois, Diane Murbarger of Edwardsville, Illinois, one son and daughter in law: Chuck and Theresa Moore of Wood River, Illinois, seven grandchildren and their spouses: Donnie and Britt Quigley, Julie and Casey Knopf, Carol and Scott Hopfinger, Katie Murbarger, Meghan and Rick Sparling, John Moore, Heather Moore, ten great grandchildren, and an uncle: Martin Greider of Decatur, Illinois.
She was formerly employed at Bryant Real Estate in Bethalto as a realtor. She was a member of the St. Paul United Methodist Church in Rosewood Heights. She loved home decorating, reading, and traveling.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and one brother: Eldon.
In celebration of her life, visitation will be from 9am until time of funeral services at 10:30am on Monday, February 11, 2013, at Pitchford Funeral Home in Wood River. Pastor Daryl Fansler will officiate. Graveside services will be held at 2:30pm on Monday, February 11, 2013, at South Macon Township Cemetery in Macon, Illinois. Rev. Janet Eggleston will officiate.
Memorials are suggested to the elevator fund at St. Paul's United Methodist in East Alton.
