Annis Baine

Annis Miller – Baine, 98, passed away at 4:45am on Friday, June 20, 2014, at Bethalto Care Center.  She was born on February 4, 1916, in Nebo, Illinois the daughter of the late William and Beulah (Killebrew) Turnbeaugh.  She married Lester Miller and he preceded her in death.  She then married Martin Baine and he preceded her in death in 2011.  Survivors include one brother: John Turnbeaugh of Buford, Georgia and her caretakers: Marilyn and Larry Graham of South Roxana.

She was formerly employed at International Shoe Company in the finishing department for 31 years.  She then worked at the Wood River Township Hospital as an aide.  After leaving Wood River Township Hospital, she took care of elderly homebound patients.  She was a member of the Roxana Church of the Nazarene, where she sang in the sanctuary choir and was active in the ladies ministry.  She was a member of the Home Extension in Edwardsville.  She loved circle words and circle number search puzzles.  She enjoyed going to church and was a prayer warrior.

In addition to her parents and her husbands, she was preceded in death by one sister: Ilis Fulkerson.

In celebration of her life, visitation will be from 9:30am to 11am on Tuesday, June 24, 2014, at Pitchford Funeral Home in Wood River.  Pastor Janice Forgach will officiate.  Burial will follow at Wanda Cemetery in South Roxana. 

Memorials are suggested to the Roxana Church of the Nazarene.
