Anna M. Jacobs

Anna M. Jacobs, 88, went to be with the Lord at 12:20 am on Monday, February 18, 2013 at her residence, with her loving husband and family by her side.

She was born on January 31, 1925 in Alton, the daughter of the late Lawrence & Tess (Cox) Siglock.

She married Marvin “Leo” Jacobs on August 3, 1946 at St. Bernard’s in Wood River. He survives.

Anna was employed for a short time at the Granite City Depot and Piasa Motor Fuels before raising her family. She was a long time member of St. Mathews Catholic Church in Alton until closing, moving her membership to St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Alton. She was a very active member of the Alton VFW Woman’s Aux. She enjoyed Bowling, Crocheting, watching her children and grandchildren play sports and loved to go dancing at the Alton VFW with her husband. She will be sadly missed by all of her family and friends.

She is survived by four children and their spouses, Brad & Cindy Jacobs of Godfrey, Gayle Wallace of CO, Tracy & Richard Fleming of Lake Worth, FL and Matt & Cara Jacobs of Alton; seven grandchildren and their spouses, Lissa & Jim Sido, Ryan & Lisa Jacobs, Alicia Wallace, Jacob Fleming, Mitchell Fleming, Eli Jacobs and Emmie Jacobs; five great grandchildren, Jacob, Connor, Kayli, Grace and Matte and one sister, Betty Hendricks of Wood River.

Visitation will be from 4:30 pm to 7:00 pm Wednesday, February 20, 2013 at Elias, Kallal & Schaaf Funeral Home in Alton, IL, with a Alton VFW Woman’s Aux service at 5:30 pm.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 am Thursday, February 21, 2013 at St. Mary’s in Alton.

Burial will follow at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens.
