Alta M. Halley, 80, passed away at 6:50 pm Monday, December 30, 2013 at Bethalto Care Center with her family by her side.
She was born on January 21, 1933 in Morehouse, MO, the daughter of Sherman and Karlene (Bryant) Cambron.
She married Harold Halley on March 4, 1950 in Pickett Arkansas. He preceded her in death on September 2, 2003.
Alta was a homemaker most of her life and she was a member of Landmark Worship Center in Bethalto. She enjoyed baking and spending time with her children.
She is survived by five sons and four daughters-in-law, Steve and Juan Halley of Cottage Hills, Vincent and Kathy Halley of Bethalto, Richard Halley of Cottage Hills, Kenneth and Nancy Halley of Cottage Hills and Ronald and Kim Halley of Piedmont, MO; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Sheila and Rick Hensley of Coulterville, IL, Pamela Halley of Cottage Hills and Patricia and Robert Williams of Potosi, MO; several grandchildren; great grandchildren; great, great grandchildren and several sisters and brothers.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and a son, Timothy Halley.
Visitation will be from 10 am until services at 11 am on Friday, January 3, 2014 at Landmark Worship Center in Bethalto with Pastor Mark Burk officiating.
Burial will follow at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto.
Memorials may be made to the Landmark Worship Center.
