Bewig, Alma (nee Marth) passed away at home on Wednesday, March 19, 2014. She was born on September 2, 1924 in Alton, IL to the late Minnie (nee Kruse) and Walter Marth. She was married to Joseph Kinsella in September, 1946 until his death in December, 1975. She then married Ralph Bewig in June, 1977 and he preceded her in death in December, 2005. Loving mother of Patricia Johnson and Mary Bewig. Beloved grandmother of James and John Williamson, Melissa Morgan, Anne Ahrens, and Joely and Melinda Johnson. Great grandmother of James, Nicole,Valerie, Grace, John, Allen Norman, Lakisha, Christopher, Walter, Brittany, Julie, Caitlin, Brandon and Alexis. Great great grandmother of 11 and beloved aunt of 7. She was preceded in death by her sister, Dorothy Goolsby, son-in-laws, William Norman Johnson and Wayne N. Bewig, granddaughter, Bridget Bewig and great granddaughter Mary Mae Williamson.
She had been a nurse since 1946. She was formerly a member of the St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Alton, IL and a current member of Our Lady of Guadalupe in Ferguson, MO.
Visitation will be from 4 until 8 pm on Sunday, March 23rd at STYGAR FLORISSANT CHAPEL, 13980 New Halls Ferry Rd., Florissant, MO, 63033. Funeral Services will begin 9:15am on Monday, March 24th at Stygar Florissant Chapel proceed to Our Lady of Guadalupe in Ferguson for 10am Mass. Interment will follow at Keystone Cemetery in St. Jacob, IL.
