Aliene L. Van Buren, 81, passed away at 6:23 pm, January 16, 2015 at St. Luke’s Hospital in Chesterfield MO.
She was born in St. Charles MO on July 12, 1933 the daughter of the late George Wilson and Hazel (Sparks) Wilson.
On September 5, 1953, she married John H. Van Buren Sr. in St. Charles, MO, he passed away on December 15, 1983.
Aliene was a farmers wife helping with the farm on a daily bases. She enjoyed being with her family playing games, (Dice and Monopoly), watching western movies and camping.
She is survived by two sons, John (Sugar) Van Buren of Portage Des Sioux, MO and Brian (Jennifer) Van Buren of West Alton; Three Daughters Marsha (Paul) Depper of Godfrey, Beverly (James) Hall of Fordsville, Kentucky, and Patricia (Wayne) Turner of West Alton; twenty-four grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; a twin sister Alice Redmon of St. Charles, MO; a brother, Nobel Wilson of St. Charles, MO, a brother-in-law, Sam Jennings of West Alton, MO; a sister-in-law, Adel Schneider of Hartford, IL and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband John, her son Johnny Ray Van Buren, her daughter Arlene Carol Van Buren, a brother James “Sunny” Wilson, and two sisters Opal Gardner and Barbara Jennings.
In celebration of her life, visitation will be from 4 pm to 7 pm on Monday, January 19, 2015 at Elias, Kallal & Schaaf Funeral Home in Alton, IL.
Funeral service will be at 1 pm, Tuesday, January 20, 2015 at Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Alton, IL.
Burial will follow at Valhalla Memorial Park in Godfrey, IL.
Memorials may be directed to American Cancer Society and or the American Diabetes Association.
