Alice E. Ferguson, 93, passed away 10:02 a.m. Sunday, February 16, 2014 at Eden Village in Glen Carbon.Born in Crockett's Bluff, Ark. on August 23, 1920, she was the daughter of Sebastian and Theresia (Bey) Schwab.A homemaker, she had been an active member at the Hartford United Methodist Church, a member of the U of I Home Extension Progran and Roxana Senior Citizens.On February 4, 1939 in St. Charles, MO, she married Cyril R. Ferguson. He died February 1, 1971.Surviving area son, C. Alan (Louella) Ferguson of Newberry Park, CA; a daughter, Cheryl (Richard) Jouett of Wood River; four grandchildren, Marie (Steve) Sigmund, Nicole (Jeff) Hetzel, Emily (Kyle) Brueggeman, Allison (Matt) Herndon; seven great grandchildren, Cole, Olivia, Jackson, Justin, Dylan, Ada and Harper.She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Michael R. Ferguson; three brothers, Victor H., Herbert and Eddie Schwab; and two sisters, Margaret T. McGraw and Julia Rush.Visitation will be from 10 a.m until time of service at 11 a.m. Thursday at Marks Mortuary in Wood River.Private burial will follow in Woodland Hill Cemetery.Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association or Hartford United Methodist Church.
