Animal neglect: Kane woman facing charges

Alice E. Bolin, age 83, of Alton, passed away Saturday, August 2, 2014, at Alton Memorial Hospital.

She was born June 13, 1931, in Macoupin County, the daughter of Emil and Willimina (Willie) Budde. She married John Bolin on September 2, 1950, and he survives.

Mrs. Bolin was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and St. Matthew’s before it’s closing. She had worked at Block’s Ice Cream, and Bell Telephone Co. She had worked for many years at First National Bank in Alton where she worked in the trust department. Alice enjoyed working in her flower garden. Her greatest joys were her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a lifetime member of the VFW Auxiliary.

In addition to her husband, John; she is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Danny “Dan” and Vicky Bolin of Godfrey; two grandchildren and their spouses, David and Amy Bolin of Huntingtown, MD, and Michelle and Kenneth Jamison of Collinsville; five great-grandchildren, Samantha, David Jr., and Jonathan Bolin, and K.J. and Valerie Jamison; one sister, Delores Gissler of Horseshoe Bend, AR; a brother and sister-in-law, John and Eileen Budde of Godfrey; and many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; five brothers, Kenneth, Charles, Eugene, Cecil, and Cletus; and a sister, Dorothy

Visitation will be held Wednesday, August 6, 2014, from 9:00 am until time of Funeral Mass at 10:00 am at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with Fr. David Yankauskas O.M.V. officiating.

Burial will take place in Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Alzheimer’s Association.

Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home has assisted the family with arrangements.
