Joseph Magurany

Joseph E. Magurany, 92, passed away 4:57 p.m. Thursday, December 25, 2014 at Alton Memorial Hospital.
Born in Wood River on September 17, 1922, he was the son of Joseph J. and Theresa (Dvorchak) Magurany.
A World War II Army Air Corps veteran, he had worked as a Group Leader in the Electronics Division of the Olin Corporation before retiring. He had been a member of the Wood River Knights of Columbus and past member of the St. Vincent de Paul Society.
Surviving are four nieces and two nephews, Elaine Dubersa, Dolores Patrick of Wood River, Janice Magurany, Sharon Adams, John D. Magurany and Thomas Magurany.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, John J. Magurany; and sister, Catherine Patrick.
Visitation will be from 5 p.m until 6:45 p.m. Tuesday at Marks Mortuary in Wood River.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Holy Angels Parish Church in Wood River. Father James Flach will officiate.
