M. Marjorie Kenney, 99, passed away 7:14 a.m. Sunday, December 21, 2014 St. Anthony Health Center in Alton.
Born on May 25, 1915 in Alton, the daughter of Joseph Edward and Mary (Clasby) Barr.
She had been a legal clerk for the Third Judicial Circuit-Madison County at the Alton Courthouse for 15 years before retiring.
On June 12, 1939, she married Wilfred Mossman. He died June 3, 1942. She later married Thomas W. Kenney on October 29, 1949. He died August 3, 1975.
She is survived by a son and his wife, Michael and Barbara Mossman; daughter, Judith Pete; 14 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Beth Kenney; sister-in-law, Mary Barr; special nephew and godchild, James P. Barr; nieces, nephews and friends.
Preceding her in death were her parents; husbands; son, Daniel Kenney; son-in-law, Robert Pete; and brother, Joseph J. Barr.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday, December 23 at Holy Angels Parish Church in Wood River. Father James Flach will serve as celebrant.
Burial will be in St. Patrick Catholic Cemetery in Godfrey.
