Iona M. Rothe, 94, of Roxana, IL, died at 1:07 a.m. Mon. Dec. 15, 2014 at St. Anthony’s Health Center in Alton, IL.
She was born May 1, 1920 in Greene Co., IL to the late Hulbert & Gracie (Willis) Brown.
She retired from Olin Corporation as an operator after 35 years of service. She loved living life and spending time with her family in her home.
Survivors include: 2 sons, Kerry (Barbara) Pitt of Edwardsville, IL and Kevin (Cindy) Pitt of Riverview, FL, a daughter, Sherryl (Charles) Redd of Redford, MI, 9 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and a brother, James (Linda) Brown of Rockford, IL.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by: 2 husbands, Francis Pitt Sr. and John Rothe, a son, Francis Pitt Jr. and 2 sisters and brothers-in-law, Wanda & Clifford Ahern and Eugenia & James Ringering.
Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Thurs. Dec. 18, 2014 at Paynic Home for Funerals, where services will be at 11:00 a.m. Fri. Dec. 19, 2014. Burial will follow at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens.
