Berniece V. Robertson Hooper, 98, formerly of East Alton, IL died at 3:50 a.m. Mon. Dec. 15, 2014 at Stearns Nursing & Rehab in Granite City, IL
She was born June 26, 1916 in Dixon, IL to the late T.L. & Grace (Jones) Henson.
Berniece had been the owner of the Unique Café in Edwardsville, IL. She was a very active lady who enjoyed spending time with her family and caring for many friends. She also loved to keep up on all important current events in the National Enquirer.
Survivors include: a son and daughter-in-law, Greg & Judy Robertson of Granite City, 8 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, 5 great-great-grandchildren and nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by: her husbands, John R. Robertson and Hal Hooper, daughter and son-in-law, Shirley V. & Jack Loyd, sister, Nola Coleman and 2 brothers, Wilbert & Delbert Henson.
Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Wed. Dec. 17, 2014 at Paynic Home for Funerals, where services will be at 10:00 a.m. Thurs. Dec. 18, 2014. Burial will follow at Valhalla Memorial Park.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or Heartland Hospice.
