Virginia L. Pittman, 91, passed away at 2:30 am Tuesday, November 25, 2014 at Heritage Manor Nursing Home in Gillespie.
She was born on April 9, 1923 in East Alton, IL, the daughter of Charles and Ethel (Reid) Manahan.
She married Grover Pittman on December 22, 1940 in East Alton. He preceded her in death on December 28, 2007.
Virginia was a homemaker most of her life. She was a member of the Roxana Church of the Nazarene
She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Denver and Trisha Pittman of Anthem, Arizona; a grandson and his wife, Anthony and Shannon Pittman of Anthem, AZ and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her siblings, Velda “Lorene” Gregory, Charles Manahan, Eula “Diz” Dale, Alice Wesley, Russell Manahan and an infant brother, Glendale Manahan.
Visitation will be from 10:30 until services at 11:00 am Monday, December 1, 2014 at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens Chapel in Bethalto with Pastor Randy Butler officiating.
Burial will follow at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto.
Memorials may be made to Bethalto Police Benevolent Fund.
