Ellen Beatrice Hard, 90, passed away 6:10 a.m. Saturday, November 15, 2014 at Columbia Rehab and Nursing.
Born on January 1, 1924 in Hartford, she was the daughter of Charles and Dorothy (Grover) Matthews.
She had been a sales clerk at "The Fabric Store" many years before retiring. Bea had been an active member of the Hartford Library Board, a volunteer at the Lewis and Clark Interpretive Center and a member of the East Maple Street Chapel.
On August 22, 1947 in Hartford, she married Harold K. Hard. He died May 23, 1993.
Surviving are a son, Kirk (Randi) Hard of Champaign; four daughters, Suzi (Dale) Heathcott of Barrett, TN, Julia Nannette McDaniel of Katy, TX, Charlie Drake of Springfield, Michelle (Ron) Fedorchak of St. Louis; 12 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday at Marks Mortuary in Wood River, where services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Wednesday.
Burial will follow in Medora City Cemetery.
