Jackie Wohnlich, 87, died at 4:03 p.m. Thursday, November 13, 2014 at Alton Memorial Hospital. Born September 4, 1927 in Alton, she was the daughter of Earl and Florence (Clark) Brown. On November 7, 1953 she married Bill Wohnlich. He preceded her in death on January 26, 2010. Surviving is a daughter and son-in-law, Jan and Dennis Bates of Alton, a son and daughter-in-law, Jay and Lisa Wohnlich of Bel Air, MD, four grandchildren, Eric Wohnlich of Columbia, MD, Stephanie Nicholas (Tom) of Richmond, VA, Jennifer Bates of Woodridge, IL, and Josh Bates of New Orleans, LA, one great grandchild, Thomas Jay Nicholas, and a sister, Cary Brown of Alton. Along with her husband she was preceded in death by a sister, Pat Wright. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until time of funeral service at 10:00 a.m. Monday, November 17, 2014 at Gent Funeral Home in Alton. Reverend Don E. Long Jr. will officiate.
