Elsie I. Westbrook 81, formerly of East Alton, passed away at 4:55 a.m. Sunday, September 21, 2014 at VIP Manor in Wood River.
Born Jan. 15, 1933 in Rico, Mo., she was a daughter of Clarence and Edna (Lyons) Markle.
She married Warren Sheets, and later married Herb Westbrook. They both preceded her in death.
Surviving are two daughters, Marcia Giberson of East Alton and Edna (Scott) Williams of Lakeland, Fla.; four sons, Jim (Karen) Sheets of Cynthiana, Ind., Jackie (Jackie) Sheets of Fort Worth, Tex., John (Patty) Sheets of Prairie Village, Kan., and Joe Sheets of East Alton; 11 grandchildren, Michelle, Andy, Kimmy, Jesse, Jennifer, Jesse, Taylor, John, Courtney, Jason and Shawn; and 14 great grandchildren.
In addition to her husbands, she was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Claudia Sheets; two granddaughters, Crystal Dawn and Shannon Marie Sheets; a sister, Bertha Hayes; and 3 brothers, Jesse, Eddie and Herb Markle.
Visitation will be Thursday, Sept. 25 at Paynic Home for Funerals from 11 a.m. until services begin at 1:00 p.m.
Burial will follow at Upper Alton Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to Unity Hospice or BJC Hospice.
