Kenneth A. “Kenny” “Grump” Arnold Sr., 64, passed away at 8:39am on Friday, September 12, 2014, at his residence. He was born on March 7, 1950, in Wood River, Illinois the son of the late Wilson and Verline (Bangert) Arnold. Survivors include two daughters: Shelly Arnold of Glen Carbon, Carolyn Kim of North Carolina, three sons and a daughter in law: Raymond Patterson of Roxana, Kenny and Kelley Arnold Jr. of Wood River, T.J. Arnold of Roxana, nine grandchildren, one great granddaughter, eight sisters and brothers in law: Joyce and Russell Cain, Janet York, Debbie and Greg Reed, Darlene and Michael O’Day, Marcella Arnold, Annette Graham, Marlene Rowe, Brenda and Richard Nolan, three brothers: Larry, Melvin, and Kelvin.

He was formerly employed at Wal – Mart for 16 years as a mechanic. He enjoyed fishing, working on cars, and his grandkids. He was a veteran of the United States Army.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son: Jeff Patterson, two grandchildren: Tiffany Butler and Savannah Arnold, a brother: Raymond Arnold, a sister: Diana Coleman, two nieces: Gloria Sparks, Nancy Davis, and his significant other: Sharon Hooper.

In celebration of his life, visitation will be from 10am until time of funeral services at 12pm on Tuesday, September 16, 2014, at Pitchford Funeral Home in Wood River. Rev. Leonard Smith will officiate. Burial will follow at Wanda Cemetery in South Roxana.

Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society Relay for Life Riverbend.
