Shirley Ann O'Grady, 77, passed away 4:35 p.m. Wednesday, September 10, 2014 at Eunice Smith Nursing Home in Alton.
Born October 6, 1936 in Kewanee, MO, she was the daughter of Thomas E. and Euna Lucille (Newton) Byers.
Shirley had worked as a waitress for the Pancake Ranch in Wood River and then as a checker for Schnucks before retiring.
On September 10, 1960 in Dearborn, MI, she married Timothy R. O'Grady. He survives.
Surviving also are two sons, David (Lynn Stacy) O'Grady of Temple, GA, Timothy R. (Leah) O'Grady of Wood River; two daughters, Deborah (Dennis) McKey of Branson, MO, Cheryl (Eugene) Jones of Williamsburg, VA; eight grandchildren, Jennifer (Jim) Stone, Aaron (Nickie) Jones, Allison (Chuck) Weid, Josh McKey, Ryan McKey, Kristi James, Todd (Rachel) O'Grady, Jonathan O'Grady; 11 great grandchildren; sister-in-law, Opal Byers of Fenton, MO; and four nieces.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and a brother, Jack Byers.
A Memorial Visitation will be from 2 p.m. until time of service at 3 p.m. Sunday at Marks Mortuary in Wood River. Rev. William Hendricks will officiate.
