Genevieve “Gen” Grove, 93, passed away at 4:45 pm, Saturday August 30, 2014 at Blu Fountain Manor in Godfrey.
She was born July 25, 1921 in Alton, IL the daughter of Walter & Theresa (Fahrig) Boschert.
She was a member of St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Godfrey and graduated from Marquette Catholic High School
She married Willard “Lefty” Grove on September 25, 1941 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Alton.
In addition to her husband, she is also survived by a two sons and daughters-in-law, Thomas & Virginia Grove of Alton, Dennis & Diane Grove of St. Louis, and a daughter, Lisa Grove of Godfrey; six grandchildren and spouses, Diane & Al Adams of Godfrey, John & Elaine Grove of Godfrey, Robert Grove of Alton, Gina & Brad Miller of Naperville, and Sarah and B.J. Libich and Patrick Grove(Wendy Lashley), all of St. Louis, nine great grandchildren, Nick and Andrew Adams, Caitlin, Megan and Renata Grove, and Mollie Grove, Audrey and Addison Miller, and Hannah Libich; several nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a grandson, Michael Grove; and a sister Dorothy Lewis.
Visitation will be from 9 am until time of funeral services at 11 am Wednesday September 3, 2014 at Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Godfrey with Father Steve Pohlman officiating.
Burial will follow at St. Patrick’s Cemetery in Godfrey.
Memorials may be made to the 5 A’s Animal Shelter or St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
