Robert Wardein

Robert “Bob” L. Wardein, 76, passed away at 8:55 am Tuesday, August 19, 2014 at Highland Healthcare Center in Highland, IL.He was born on April 23, 1938 in Alton, IL, son of the late Bernard & Ruth (Ohlson) Wardein.He married Donna M. (Rice) Wardein at St. Mary’s Catholic Church on June 10, 1967.Bob was employed for 25 years as an electrician at Owens-Illinois Glass Works until its closing.  He then worked for 15 years as an electrician at Olin until retirement in 2001.  He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Alton, the Alton K of C Council # 460 were he was a 4^th degree Knight.  Bob enjoyed tinkering with radios and spending time with his family and friends.He is survived by his wife, Donna; five children and their spouses, Debbie Wardein of Alton, Teri & Scott Westbrook of Alton, Patti & Leon Huntsman of Huntingdon, TN, Lisa Wardein of Alton and Michael & Jessica Wardein of E. Alton; eleven grandchildren; three great grandchildren, two sisters and brother-in-law, Barbara & John Fulk of GA and Marsha Estes of Wood River and a brother Jim Wardein of Wood River.Visitation will be from 4 pm until 7 pm, Thursday, August 21, 2014 at Staten-Fine Funeral Home in Alton with a K of C 4^th Degree service at 6:30 pm.Funeral Mass will be at 10 am on Friday, August 22, 2014 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Alton with Fr.
