William Burns

William D. "Bill" Burns, 72, of Gillespie, IL, died at his residence on Monday, June 30, 2014 at 8:51 pm. He was born June 13, 1942, in Litchfield, IL to Walter Burns & Josephine (Harris) Burns. He married Jerilyn (Beyer) Burns on August 22, 1964 at the Holy Cross Church in Wilsonville, IL. He was retired after having been the Associate Director of Student Work and Financial Assistance for Southern Illinois University. William was a member of Gillespie School Board from 1978-1993, Former President of Gillespie Junior Boys Baseball League and member of American Legion of Carlinville, IL . He is survived by his spouse, Jerilyn Burns of Gillespie, IL, sons, William P. (Cori) Burns of Arlington Heights, IL, Thomas M. (Dana) Burns of St. Charles, MO, grandchildren, Matthew Burns, Meghan Burns, Mallory Burns sister, Barbara (Ron) Rull of Gillespie, IL, & mother in law, Lena Beyer of Wilsonville, IL. William was preceded in death by his parents. Friends may call on Friday, July 11, 2014 at SS Simon & Jude Church Gillespie from 9:00 am until 11:00 am. Memorial mass will be Friday, July 11, 2014 at 11:00 AM at SS Simon and Jude Church in Gillespie, IL with Fr. Angel Sierra officiating.
