Levo Dallape

Wood River |

Levo ‘Lee’ Dallape, of Wood River, passed away at 11:15a.m. Wednesday, July 2, 2014, in Skiatook, Oklahoma.

He was born in Stravino, Italy on June 1, 1920, to the late Joseph and Maria Dallape. The couple brought their three daughters and son to America in 1928, settling in Collinsville, Illinois.

Levo graduated from Collinsville High School in1940, where he was a well-known high school basketball player at a school known for producing talented basketball athletes. A record of his high school basketball career, collected over his high school years, is entitled “300 Points in 29 Games”.

 He married Elizabeth “Betty” Collier in Illinois. They were the parents of three children, Betty, Terry, and Joseph.  Joseph survives and resides in the Tulsa Oklahoma area.

Levo was preceded in death by his wife Elizabeth, daughter Betty and son Terry Lee Dallape who lost his life in Vietnam in 1969. His three sisters, Annie, Lena and Ida have also passed away.

Levo retired from the machine shop of Owens-Illinois Glass Co. after 40 years of service.

Visitation will be held 4-7 p.m. Tuesday, July 8 at Paynic Home for Funerals in East Alton, where services will be held at 10a.m. Wednesday, July 9.

Burial will be in Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto, Illinois.
