Kathleen Reynolds, 86, died at 1:51 p.m. Tuesday, July 1, 2014 at Bethalto Care Center. Born December 22, 1927 in Harrisburg, IL, she was the daughter of Henry and Myrtle (Crabb) McGuire. Kathleen retired from J.C. Penney Co. as a floor supervisor after more than 30 years of service and was a member of Bethalto First Methodist Church. She was an avid St. Louis Cardinal fan and loved spending time with her grandchildren. Surviving is a son and daughter-in-law, Dennis and Carol Reynolds of Bethalto, five grandchildren, Erin Siemens, John Reynolds, Leslie Reynolds, Kirsten Carll, and Samantha Reynolds, three great grandchildren, Frances Siemens, Freddy Siemens, and Bryson Carll. She was preceded in death by a son, Lester “Butch” Reynolds, a brother, Bruce McGuire, four sisters, Beulah Rice, Blanche Zimmer, Polly Petrusha, and Verna Boyd, and her former husband, Lester Reynolds. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until time of memorial service at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 5, 2014 at Gent Funeral Home in Alton. Reverend Andre’ Dobson will officiate. Burial will be at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto. Memorials may be made to the Crisis Food Center or the 5A’s Animal Shelter.
