Jeff Klaustermeier, 45, passed away at 3:27 pm Wednesday, June 11, 2014 at his home with his family by his side.
He was born on March 28, 1969 in Springfield, IL, the son of James Klaustermeier and Machelle Hawkins.
He married Lisa Mullink on October 8, 1994 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Bunker Hill. She survives.
Jeff was a manager/designer at Great Central Lumber. He was a member of Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Bethalto. He loved being with his family and attending his children’s sporting events and activities. He was also an avid outdoorsman and hunter.
In addition to his wife, Lisa, he is survived by his two children, Zachary and Kaylee Klaustermeier at home; his father and stepmother, Jim and Liz Klaustermeier of Benld and his mother, Mickey Hawkins of East Alton; his grandmother, Peggy Nolan of Alton; a brother and sister-in-law, Brad and Carla Klaustermeier of Wood River; his mother and father-in-law, Gene and Marie Mullink of Bunker Hill; a sister-in-law and her spouse, Gina and Steve Schwegel of Bunker Hill; a brother-in-law and his spouse, Jeff and Whitney Mullink of Bunker Hill and his nieces and nephews, Jacob Schwegel, Cole Klaustermeier, Kyle and Ethan Mullink, Sydney Schwegel, Keaton Klaustermeier, Mallory Schwegel and Rachel Schwegel.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Vernon and Dorothy Klaustermeier.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 pm Friday, June 13, 2014 at Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Bethalto.
A Mass of Christian Burial celebrating Jeff’s life will be 10:00 am Saturday, June 14, 2014 at Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Bethalto with Father Tom Liebler and Father George Radosevich officiating.
Interment will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery on Catholic Springs Road in Bunker Hill.
Memorials may be made to the Klaustermeier Children.
