Juanita Davis, age 95, of Mt. Olive, IL, passed away Friday, May 23, 2014, at St. Francis Hospital in Litchfield.
She was born August 27, 1918, in Kane, IL, the daughter of Karl and Blanche (Hetzel) Fritsch. She married William Davis on May 13, 1945, and he preceded her in death November 18, 1999.
Mrs. Davis was an avid jigsaw puzzler who loved to play games of all sorts. Her interests included crochet and sewing. She loved working in her garden and raising flowers. She was a member of Living Stones Church in Litchfield, IL.
She is survived by four children and their spouses, Priscilla and John Mouat of Rochester Hills, MI, Viola and Kenneth West of Litchfield, IL, William and Karla Davis of Denham Springs, LA, and Lucinda and Harold Osborn of Mt. Olive, IL; eight grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and several other relatives and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband William; and two sisters, Alice East and Inez Darr.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, May 27, 2014, from 10 to 11:00 am, at Rose Lawn Memory Garden chapel in Bethalto, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 am officiated by Dr. Harold Reents.
Interment will take place in Rose Lawn Memory Garden.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Jacksonville School for the Deaf in Jacksonville, IL.
