Betty J. Neidel, 85, passed away at 12:33 pm Monday, February 10, 2014 at Alton Memorial Hospital in Alton.
She was born on August 5, 1928 in Wood River, IL, the daughter of Lewis and Velma (Flowers) Worley Sr.
Betty was a lab tech at Owens Illinois Glass in Alton until her retirement in 1977. She was a member of the Alton VFW Ladies Auxiliary. She taught ball room dancing and enjoyed fishing. Most of all she loved spending time with her family and friends.
She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Helen Strong of Dorsey; a brother, Veachel Eippert and his wife, Rose of Bethalto and her nieces and cousins.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Lewis J. Worley.
Per her request, cremation rites were accorded. Private family services will be at a later date.
Memorials may be made to the Alton VFW Post 1308 Auxiliary.
