Wilma L. Koenig, 80, died at 12:06 a.m. Saturday, February 8, 2014 at Alton Memorial Hospital. Born September 30, 1933 in Bowen, IL, she was the daughter of Albert U. and Vinda (Akers) Bruns. She was a member of the Evangelical United Church of Christ of Godfrey and enjoyed spending time with family and friends. On July 5, 1952 she married Richard G. Koenig in Quincy, IL. He preceded her in death in 1986.
Surviving is a son and daughter-in-law, Ralph and Debra Koenig of Alton, two grandchildren, Kristina M. Hazard (Bradley) of Savannah, GA, and McKinzie N. Koenig of Creve Coeur, MO, a great granddaughter, Meika Grace Hazard, one brother, Raymond L. Bruns (Roselee)of Hamilton, Alabama, and numerous nieces and nephews.
All services will be private at Gent Funeral Home.
Burial will be at Valhalla Memorial Park in Godfrey. Reverend Jerry MeCaskey will officiate.
Memorials may be made to the Evangelical United Church of Christ.
