Mary Lou Hay, 85, passed away at 6:51 a.m. Sunday, February 2, 2014 at Eunice C. Smith Home in Alton.
Born Jan. 19, 1929 in Alton, she was a daughter of Fred Obermiller, Sr. and Louise (Westhoff) Obermiller, who both preceded her in death.
She married Harold L. Hay Dec. 28, 1947 in Wood River. He passed away March 27, 2005.
Mary Lou worked in the admissions office at SIUE School of Dental Medicine in Alton. She loved sewing, cooking, knitting, and crocheting, and also enjoyed spending time with her family and her card club.
Survivors include two daughters, Debra (Stephen) Dickerson of Wentzville, Mo., and Sheryl (Les) Paradine of Jerseyville; a son, Kevin (Melissa) Hay of Edwardsville; grandchildren, Matthew (Amy) Dickerson, Aaron Dickerson, Brandon (Mandy) Dickerson, Brian Dickerson, Christina (Ben) Partridge, Crystal Paradine, Wendi (Troy) Martin, and Shawn, Adalin and Brittany Hay; great grandchildren, Jacob, Sophia, Braiden, Brooklyn, Karlee, Ellis, Tatum, Tegin, Oletta, and Wyatt; and a brother and his wife, Fred , Jr. and Joyce Obermiller of Wood River.
Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 5 at Paynic Home for Funerals, 618 East Airline Drive, East Alton. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 6 at College Avenue Presbyterian Church in Alton. Revs. C. Dale Jackson and George H. Humbert, Jr. will officiate.
Burial will follow at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto.
