Belva Tutt

Belva L. Tutt, 79, passed away at 12:48 am Tuesday, January 21, 2014 at Provisions Living in Godfrey, under the care of Passages Hospice. 

She was born on June 21, 1934 in Bethalto, IL, the daughter of Roscoe and Louisa (Payne) Sitze. 

She married Billy Lee Tutt in June 1963 at the Bethalto United Methodist Church. He preceded her in death on October 30, 1979. 

Belva was a beautician in Bethalto for many years.  She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Bethalto.  She enjoyed bowling and was a St. Louis Cardinals fan.  She loved spending time with her family and her LhasaApso dog, Chuey.

She is survived by four daughters and sons-in-law, Tracy Bickmore of East Alton, Jill & Jeff Harkey, Keri & Tom Williams and Kris & Jeff Fencel all of Bethalto; eight grandchildren and their spouses, Craig and Haley Hyden, JiIl and Mark Jeffery, Kaci Harkey, Nic Harkey, Sammi Elliott, Justin Williams, Shane Fencel, and Lindsey Fencel; three great grandchildren, Tristen, Addison and Ella; two sisters, Shelby Hitch of St. James, MO and Norma Montgomery of Alton; a son-in-law, John Elliott of Bethalto and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a daughter, Kelly Elliott and two brothers-in-law, James “Jim” Hitch and Bruce Montgomery.  

Visitation will be from 11 am until services at 1pm on Thursday, January 23, 2014 at Elias, Kallal & Schaaf Funeral Home in Bethalto with Pastor Charles West officiating.

Burial will follow at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens Cemetery in Bethalto.

Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
