INFORMATION UPDATED AS THE SERVICE DATE WAS CHANGED DUE TO WEATHER
Clyde Wilson, 66, known as “Pete” to his family and close friends, passed away at his home in Godfrey on Friday, January 3, 2014.
After attending Roxana High School, he joined the Army in 1967 and served a tour of duty in Viet Nam. After military service he lived in the East Alton are prior to moving to Beaumont, Texas. While there he worked as a pipefitter for many years, and was also a small-business owner. After spending most of his adult life in Texas he relocated to Godfrey.
He is survived by his mother and stepfather, Bess and Al McDonald of Godfrey, and by his sister, Martha Wilson Dugan and her husband Michael of Easton, Maryland and their daughter Jessica of Norfolk, VA. He is also survived by relatives and friends in Illinois, Texas, Tennessee and Colorado.
A memorial visitation will be held at GENT Funeral Home at 2409 State Street in Alton on Friday, January 10, 2014 from 4-7 p.m.
While he did not suffer from Alzheimer’s, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Foundation at alzfdn.org in his name in memory of those members of his family who have struggled with the disease. Additional information and online guestbook may be found at www.gentfuneralhome.com
