Pauline Angleton—East Alton
Pauline Louise Angleton, 82, passed away at 3:05 p.m. Sunday, December 29, 2013 at St. Anthony’s Hospital.
Born Apr. 26, 1931 in Alton, she was the daughter of Oscar and Mabel (Henson) Shewmake.
Pauline married CD Angleton July 24, 1948 in Alton. He preceded her in death Feb. 4, 1996.
A homemaker, Pauline loved spending time with her children and grandchildren, and enjoyed watching tennis and golf on television.
She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Terry (Carolyn) Angleton of Wood River and Bob (Debbie) Angleton of East Alton; 7 grandchildren, Kelly Tungett, Kristi (Brad) Wiegand, Corey Gentry, Jamie (Brad) Turner, Ryan (Kelli) Angleton, Kim (Dillon) Olson, and Matthew Angleton; and 8 great grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Paula Gentry; a son, David Angleton; her parents; 8 brothers and one sister.
Visitation will be Thursday, Jan. 2 at Paynic Home for Funerals from 9 a.m. until services begin at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at Woodland Hill Cemetery in East Alton.
