Donald Edward Lane, 67, died at 10:20 a.m. on Friday, December 27, 2013 at his residence with his family by his side. He was born October 17, 1946 in Alton, the son of the late Albert V. “Spud” and Tillie A. (Booth) Lane. He was a retired truck driver from Olin Corporation and was an avid outdoorsman who loved to hunt and fish.
He is survived by one daughter; Dawn Sutter and her husband Kennon of East Alton, four grandchildren; Kraig Daniels, Roger Garrison, Eleni Sutter and Kathlyn Sutter, two sisters; Barbara Edelen of Godfrey and Milly Ridder of Elsah, and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by one sister; Betty Lane.
Visitation will be from 4:00-8:00 p.m. on Friday, January 3, 2014 at Gent Funeral Home in Alton where funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, January 4, 2014.
Burial will be at Elsah Cemetery. Memorials may be made to BJC Hospice.
