Jonathan “Jon” Jacob Weichert, age 43, passed away at 11:25 am Sunday, December 22, 2013 at his residence.
He was born on May 18, 1970 in Springfield, IL, the son of Patrick Weichert and his spouse Wendy of NC.
He married Jessica L. (Harshbarger) on July 31, 2010 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Alton.
He enjoyed watching the Chicago Cubs and Chicago Bears. He loved to be with his family and friends.
He is survived by his father and step-mother and wife Jessica; one son Zach Weichert of Ohio; Sam Harshbarger and Chris Stucker both of Bethalto; father-in-law and his spouse Andy and Mary Harshbarger of Alton; mother-in-law and her spouse, Mike & Teresa McDougal of Edwardsville; brothers-in-law and sister-in-law, Andrew Harshbarger Jr. of Edwardsville, Megan & Chris Thomas of Godfrey, Ryan Cassidy of TN and Nick Warner of Alton; one sister, Edie Weichert of NC; several uncles, aunts, nephews, cousins and friends.
Visitation will be on Friday, December 27, 2013 from 4 pm to 7 pm at Staten-Fine Funeral Home.
Burial be on Monday, December 30, 2013 at 1:30 pm at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis, MO.
Memorials may be made to an Education Fund for the children.
