Ruth M. Vann age 76 departed this life on Saturday December 21, 2013, at 2:13 p.m. at Alton Memorial Hospital. She was born on January 8, 1937 in Memphis Tennessee. She was the daughter of Robert Bond Sr. and Hattie Mae (Huddleston) Bond. She was married to Joe Vann on March 6, 1970, in Alton. She was a graduate of Lewis Clark Community College. She attended Church of the Living God and Bethesda Temple. Ruth worked as a CNA and medical assistant.
She is survived by her daughter Nicole (Charlie) Glover of Memphis, TN; 4 sons Donald Weddle of Alton; Timothy D. Weddle of Kansas; Joseph L. Vann of Memphis, TN; Mark Anthony Vann of Carbondale, Il; 15 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, 4 brothers Robert (Evelyn) Bonds Jr. and Aldavis (Ann) Bonds both Ann Arbor, MI; Charles Bonds of Michigan City, IN; and Dwight (Denise) Bonds of San Diego, CA; 3 sisters Aletrice Payne of Ann Arbor, MI; Sundrea Bonds and Rita (Robert) Shivers both Humboldt, TN; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter Gwendolyn Weddle, a brother Jimmy D. Bonds a sister Myrtle D. Seward.
