Harry A. “Tony” Heigert Jr

Harry A. “Tony” Heigert Jr., 77, passed away at 1:50pm on Sunday, December 22, 2013, in the emergency room at Alton Memorial Hospital. He was born on July 12, 1936, in Cottage Hills, Illinois the son of the late Harry A. and Sylvia M. (Clary) Heigert Sr. He married the former Sylvia R. Wakeford on February 16, 1974, in Ohio and she survives. Other survivors include two daughters and sons in law: Shelley and Chris Gore of Georgia, Stacey and Daniel Moore of New Lenox, Illinois, one son and daughter in law: Stephen and Rebekka Heigert of Wood River, seven grandchildren, two step – granddaughters, one sister and brother in law: Saundra and Gerald Davis of South Carolina, and one brother and sister in law: Carl and Lindalee Heigert of Bunker Hill, Illinois. .

He was formerly employed at Boeing for over 25 years as an engineer. He was a member of the Bethalto Masonic Lodge # 406 A.F. & A.M., and the York Rite Bodies Franklin Chapter #8 Alton Council #3. He was a member of the Rosewood Heights Community Church. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force.

In celebration of his life, visitation will be from 4pm to 8pm on Friday, December 27, 2013, at Pitchford Funeral Home in Wood River with Masonic Rites at 7pm by the Bethalto Masonic Lodge #406 A.F. & A.M. Funeral services will be held at 10am on Saturday, December 28, 2013, at the funeral home. Pastor Ron Wenzel will officiate. Burial will follow at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto.
