Frieda June Lewis, 79, passed away at 9:37 am on Thursday, December 12, 2013 at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, MO.
She was born in Jerseyville, IL on July 12, 1934 to the late Walter M. and Harriet (Sorrels) Stewart. She was the last surviving sibling of three sisters and one brother.
Frieda June married Wesley Lewis on September 21, 1957, in Carrollton, IL. He survives.
From 1975 to 1993 she was the drummer and occasional vocalist for the musical group Lila Lee and The Comancheros. June was a life member and past president of Cottage Hills VFW Memorial Post #7678.
Frieda June is survived by her husband, and one daughter and her spouse; Shonna and Victor Hadash of Bay City, TX, four grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 1 to 2 pm, Monday, December 16, 2013 at the Elias, Kallal & Schaaf Funeral Home in Alton, IL.
