Donna Jean Beckman, 84, died at 7:10 a.m. on Wednesday, September 18, 2013 at her residence. She was born June 29, 1929 in Vandalia, IL the daughter of John Staff and Maude Staff-Wilson and step-daughter of Newell Wilson. She graduated from Ramsey High School and was an area realtor for several years. She was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church in Alton. She married Aldo Mondin on October 14, 1950. He preceded her in death on August 4, 1960. On June 7, 1963 in Alton she married Carl Beckman and he preceded her in death on July 24, 2005. Surviving are two sons, John (Kay) Mondin of Alton and Michael Mondin of Alton, two daughters, Cheryl (Loren) Darr of Medora, IL and Tamara (Terry) Taul of Godfrey, one daughter in law, Debbie Mondin of DeBary, Fl, three step children, Connie (Ron) Middleton, LeeAnn Warner and Michael Beckman all of Shelbyville, IL, seven grandchildren, Michael Mondin, Julie Mondin, Brady Darr, Ian Taul, Danielle Darr, Aldo Mondin III (Abigail) and Eli Taul, numerous step grandchildren, one great granddaughter, Ariana Mondin and one sister, Billie (Doug) Sitter of St. Charles, MO. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one son, Aldo II and one brother, John Earl Staff. Visitation will be from 4:00-7:00 p.m. on Friday, September 20, 2013 at Gent Funeral Home in Alton where funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 21, 2013 with Pastor Don Long officiating. Burial will be at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto. Memorials may be made to Encounter Youth Choir or American Cancer society.
