Edith Marie Tucker, 87, died at 12:45 a.m., Friday, August 23, 2013, at Jerseyville Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Jerseyville.
She was born in Hardinsburg, KY on February 26, 1926, and was one of three daughters born to the late Clarance and Ava May (Osborne) Sturgeon..
Edith enjoyed the outdoors and time spent fishing and planting flowers.
Surviving are three daughters, Linda Stemmler of Jerseyville; Patricia “Pat” Hamm of Jacksonville and Virginia “Ginger” Grant of Central Illinois; 10 granchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Stella Mae of El Dorado.
In addition to her parents, Edith was preceded in death by her husband Arthur “Bud” Tucker; a son, Edward Shoptaw; a daughter, Betty Jean Angel; a sister, Anna Ruth; and her former husband and father of her five children, Roy Lee Shoptaw.
Per her wishes, cremation rights have been accorded.
Private services will be held at a later date.
Crawford Funeral Home in Jerseyville is in charge of arrangements.
