JERSEYVILLE-  Deborah Ann (Cain) Hess, 50, died unexpectedly at 9:31 a.m., Monday, August 12, 2013 at her home.She was born in Jerseyville on Feb. 6, 1963, the oldest of five children born to Glenwood Archie & Anna Mae (Dunham) Cain.She grew up in Jerseyville, and graduated in 1982 from Jersey Community High School.  She then went on to complete cosmetology school, and earned as Associates Degree from Lewis & Clark Community College in Godfrey.She began working in the medical field, assuming positions at St. Anthony's Hospital and Alton Memorial Hospital, and later Christian Hospital Northeast before failing health required her to cease working.Deborah has suffered from kidney disease for the past 26 years along with diabetes and last two years, three different types of cancer. but her grit and determination made her life happy and she made those around her happy as well.  She was a proud 17 year survivor of a kidney transplant, and felt blessed to have been given those years in which she was able to continue serving the Lord, being active in Charity Christian Center, and their G.A.K. program and being the proud grandmother of two.She married James Walter Hess on Aug. 1, 1987 at the First Assembly of God in Jerseyville, and together they have been blessed with 26 years together.Surviving are her husband, James Hess of Jerseyville; her parents, Glenn and Anna Mae Cain of Jerseyville; a daughter, Tami Ann Cain of Jerseyville; her two beloved grandchildren, Hailie and Mason; three sisters & brothers in law, Sharon Cain, and her fiance' Denny Jackson of Rockbridge, Donna & Greg Weishaupt of Hamburg, and Lisa & Jon Schrimpton of Grafton; a brother, Philip Cain of Jerseyville; 10 nieces and nephews; a great nephew; and her mother in law, Mary Lou Hess of Jerseyville; along with many loving aunts, uncles and cousins.She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Otis & Lola Dunham and Archie & Lorene Cain; and her father inlaw, Donald E. Hess.Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m Thursday at the Charity Christian Center in Jerseyville, where funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday.  Her uncle, Rev. Wilbur Cain will officiate.Burial will be in the Fieldon Cemetery.Memorials may be given to the family in care of Crawford Funeral Home in Jerseyville, who is charge of the arrangements.
