Ronald “Ron” D. Orr, went to be with the Lord at 9:27 pm on Saturday, July 27, 2013 at St. Louis Univ. Hospital in St. Louis, MO.
He was born on September 26, 1943 in Alton, IL, the son of Walter “Rollin” and Mildred Louise (Long) Orr.
He married Mary Fehrenbacher on September 27, 1963 at Forest Homes Baptist Church. She survives. They would have celebrated 50 years of marriage in September.
Ron was a parts manager for Clark Boat and Motor since 1988. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Bethalto.
In addition to his wife of Bethalto and his parents of East Alton, he is survived by three children and their spouses, Cathie and Gary Wells of Bethalto, Sherry and Rick Parks of Crawfordville, FL and Kevin and Jennifer Orr of East Alton; eight grandchildren, Leanne and her husband Tommy Thompson, Kelsie Wells, Zachary Wells, Eric Parks, Travis Parks, Lyndsie Parks, Elizabeth Orr and Amanda Orr; three great grandchildren, Ben Thompson, Ava Thompson and James Thompson; a sister, Sharon Korando of Wood River; a brother, John Orr of Flower Mound, TX and his nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 pm on Tuesday, July 30, 2013 at Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Bethalto.
Visitation will continue from 10 until funeral services at 11 am on Wednesday, July 31, 2013 at the First Baptist Church of Bethalto with Pastor Chip Faulkner officiating.
Burial will follow at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto.
Memorials may be given to Jerry’s Pavilion Fund or Vision Plus at First Baptist Church of Bethalto.
