James Kadell

James Gregory Kadell, 62, died at 5:00 a.m., Tuesday, May 28, 2013 at his residence.He was born in Carrollton on Nov. 19, 1950, and was the oldest child born to Stuart Gregory & Rosemary (Green) Kadell.Jim attended Holy Ghost Catholic School, and graduated in 1968 from Jersey Community High School.  He was a welder by trade and had been employed at numerous establishments including, Baughmann's Manufacturing, Grafton Boat Works, Albericis, and Federal Steel.Surviving are two sons & daughters in law, Christopher & LeAnn Kadell of Jerseyville and Jacob & Kathy Kadell of Brighton; a daughter, Carrie Kadell Cox of Jerseyville; eight grandchildren, Colin, Ryan, Damon, Ella, Benjamin, Trevor, Trenton, Tanner, and one expected in November; a brother & sister in law, Jeff & Laura Kadell of Jerseyville; three sisters and brothers in law, Janet Cunningham, and her companion, Vic Trout of Brighton, Joan & Rick Ray of Fieldon, and Jenny & Bill Strebel of Jerseyville; along with numerous nephews and one niece; aunts and uncles and cousins.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant grandson, Adam Christopher Kadell; a nephew, Jason Strebel, and his grandparents, Adrian & Marguerite Green, and William & Frances Kadell.Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Crawford Funeral Home in Jerseyville.Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Holy Ghost Catholic Church in Jerseyville, with Father William Hembrow officiating.Burial will be in the St. Francis Xavier Cemetery in Jerseyville.Memorials may be given to his family in care of the funeral home.
