Kenneth W. Neely, 74, passed away at 2:54 am Wednesday April 24, 2013 at Alton Memorial Hospital
He was born in Alton on October 22, 1938 the son of the late Walter and Josephine (Fortin) Neely.
Ken married the former Nora Rose (Searcy) on August 2, 1980 in Bethalto, IL she survives.
He served his country in the U.S. Army; he was employed for over 35 years at the Con Agra Company in Alton. He enjoyed gardening and spending time with his dog Max. His greatest joy was spending time with his family and grandchildren.
Ken is survived by his wife Rose, a daughter and her spouse: Valerie and John Dunkel of Mt. Carmel, IL, four grandchildren: Marcerie Hocking, Evan Dunkel, Chris Johnston and Karmen Macke, three great-grandchildren: Peyton and Thayer Hocking and Khade Johnston, four sisters: Margaret Jones of Hayward, CA, Cecil Manns of Dorsey, IL, Darlene Murphy of Harrisburg, IL and Josephine Hammock of Bethalto, IL and many loving nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter: Cynthia Johnston, and three sisters and six brothers.
Per his wishes cremation rites will be accorded.
A Memorial Visitation will be from 9 until time of Funeral Mass at 10:30 am, Saturday, April 27, 2013 at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Alton. Father David Boase will officiate.
