Timothy Hogan

Surrounded by family, Timothy S. Hogan, 51, passed away at 1:05 p.m. Wednesday, October 17, 2012 at his home in East Alton, IL.  Born April 3, 1961 in St. Louis, MO, he was the son of Gerard and Barbara (Conboy) Hogan of St. Charles, MO.  He attended Bethel Free Will Baptist Church in South Roxana, IL.  On January 10, 1987 in South Roxana, he married the former Joni Williams. She survives.  Along with his parents and wife he is survived by a daughter, Kristen Hogan, two sons, Kyle and Jered Hogan, and brother and sisters, Kelley (Mike) McDonald of St. Charles, MO, Patrick (Tracey) Hogan of Winfield, MO, and Lynn (Kevin) Marstall of St. Peters, MO.  Seven nieces and nephews; Sean and McKenzie McDonald, Courtney, Josh, and Abbey Hogan, and Madilynn and Molly Marstall.  Mother and Father- in- law, Dallas and Phyllis Williams of East Alton, IL.  God Children, Collin Nash and Ethan Guss. 

Tim, with business partner Steve Nash, co-founded Gateway Trailer Repair, St. Charles, MO, in April of 1983. The two friends began the company with a single truck and over the years built it into a company creating jobs for over 30 current employees.  During that time he gained many lasting friendships with employees and customers.  Tim enjoyed spending time with his family and friends boating on Southern Illinois lakes, vacationing on gulf coast beaches, riding the slopes of the Colorado Rockies, and motorcycling on the open road all across the US.  Tim belonged to an unofficial motorcycle club, The Underhill Gang, whom he traveled with across upwards of thirty states.  Visitation will be from 3:00-7:00 p.m. Sunday, October 21, 2012 at Gent Funeral Home in Alton where funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Monday, October 22, 2012.  Reverend Ivan Ryan will officiate.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Missouri Baptist Healthcare Foundation for a lasting tribute to be placed in the Cancer Center Memorial Garden in honor of Tim.
