Sarah June Wade, 83, died at 6:05 a.m., Saturday, April 30, 2016 at Jerseyville Manor Nursing Home in Jerseyville.
Born in Jerseyville on March 10, 1933, to the late Collie “Bones” & Zoe (Gillespie) Wedding, Sarah was raised in the Jerseyville area and graduated from Jersey Township High School.
She married Dean Wade and his work took them to Munster, IN, where they relocated in 1965 and raised their sons.
After their children were raised, Sarah and Dean retired to Orlando, FL where they resided for several years before Dean’s passing, at which time Sarah moved back home to Jerseyville where she had resided for the past 15 years.
Sarah’s family knew her to be a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, and grandmother. She enjoyed spending time with her family, baking on holidays, playing cards, and golfing when in Florida. She will be dearly missed by all that knew her.
Surviving are two sons and a daughter-in-law, Jerry & Patricia Wade of Munster, IN and David Wade of Lakeland, FL; as well as two grandchildren, Kyle Wade of Gurnee, IL, and Kelly Wade of Munster, IN.
In addition to her parents and her husband, Sarah was preceded in death by eight brothers, Phillip, James, William, Charles, Thomas, Eugene and twins, Clinton & Quintin Wedding; and three sisters, Belva Crane, Phyllis Pryzbylski and Orpha Witt.
Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m., Thursday, May 5, 2016 at the Crawford Funeral Home in Jerseyville.
Private burial will take place alongside her parents at the Rosedale Cemetery in Rosedale, at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Jersey County Relay for Life in care of the funeral home.
